Valkyrie at Festyland
Valkyrie is a Vekoma Family Boomerang at Festyland, developed into a complete themed attraction by Morgan Fix Creative. Working with the project architects and Vekoma, we developed the story, guest role, building volume, interiors, queue, train design, materials, scenic sourcing and on-site installation. The attraction opened in April 2026.

80% less
Festyland had already selected and positioned a Vekoma Family Boomerang between its medieval area and Viking village. Festyland had already defined the ride system, but not the experience around it.
Morgan Fix Creative developed the story, guest role, building volume, interiors, queue, train identity and material palette, working with the project architects and Vekoma.
With most of the available budget committed to the ride system, the scenic package had to work harder. Instead of reducing the scope, we sourced and supplied the scenic elements directly.
For the same items, this cost the client 80% less than theming-contractor pricing.
The result was a more complete guest experience within the available budget.
Why Valkyrie?
Guests reach this hill through the Viking village, so the story had to belong there. But Festyland’s Norse attractions were already built around male figures. A Valkyrie brought the park a character it did not have, inside a mythology it already owned.
Visitors are not spectators, and they are not warriors queuing for Valhalla. They are Keepers of Memory, young travellers chosen by the old gods to revive a forgotten realm so the last Valkyrie can rise one final time.
They are given a role before they are given a seat.
Morgan Fix Creative carried that idea through the building, interiors, queue, train, materials, sourcing and installation.

Station design
Boarding sits on the upper level. The station below was drawn longer than strictly necessary, so guests can enter, read the room and find their place before reaching the airgates.
We set the volume into the mound, so the two-level building barely registers from outside in its wooded setting.
We also designed it for a later extension, allowing Festyland to stage the investment rather than rush the first phase.

Train design
Vekoma has two standard train bodies. One looked like the obvious choice for a Norse theme, and everyone had already pictured it. We pushed the other because this was a Valkyrie’s story and the vehicle had to read as hers.
The first sketches put guests on horseback. Working with Vekoma and its design partner, the idea evolved into the final train identity. Rail colours and material palettes were developed with the same logic.

Direct sourcing
A local carpenter built a solid timber frame, making structure and scenography one object rather than steel wrapped in decor.
Daylight enters through small openings. German hanging fixtures bring character. We upgraded local sconces with frosted glass and flame-effect bulbs. The interactive shield runs on its own fibre-optic loop rather than a show-control system.
Bought, found and custom-made pieces sit side by side. The approach created a layered environment without handing the entire scenic package to a single theming contractor.
Open since April 2026
The finished attraction brings together the ride system, themed train, station, scenic environment and guest story as one experience.
